In Memory of Porkchop
December 14, 2005

Porkchop wasn't just a Frenchie, he was like a son to us and the most wonderful, special being that could have came into our lives. He went with Brian (daddy) on trips to the Home Depot, grocery store, video store, visits over daddy's friends and families homes. While daddy worked, mommy (me) took him to Petsmart to jump up on the bird cages and get cookies from all of workers there, he especially liked our Friday visits where the vet and vet techs would dote on him and feed him treats. Porky also liked visiting with my neighbors on our walks, they'd let him come right into their houses and say hello. We even took him to Amish Country a couple weeks ago to run through the farms and nibble on cheese from the Guggisberg factory. He had such a great time running through the grass and sniffing everything in site.

Words cannot describe how special this little guy was. PC loved his walks (he got 3 a day, until the snow came and he wasn't feeling well). He especially liked going to the park to sniff and barrel through the leaves. Brian said as he would run through them he looked like he had a smile on his face. Brian already misses cuddle time. When Brian would get home from work around 12:30a, the first thing he did after changing out of his uniform and into comfy clothes was to pick up Porky and snug with him on the couch. PC would lay in his arms (like a baby) for 15-20 minutes and once he was sound asleep, Brian would then carry him to his bed and kiss his little head. PC was our baby boy and just as we wouldn't let our own child suffer, it would not have been fair for him to live his life in chronic pain.

Porky is with Brian's mom and my uncle (a huge animal lover) running through some fresh cut grass with the sun shining on him. He has no more pain, stiches or scars but is fit as a fiddle checking everything out in heaven being the "nosey rosey" that he is.  We feel Porkchop was good energy and he will ascend into heaven but his soul will continue to hang around to help Brian and me through our time of grief : ) He knows that we loved him very much and that he will never be forgotten but cherished in our hearts and souls forever.

Porky was truly a blessing and we are better people for having the opportunity to share our love with him even if only for a short time. Whenever I see the sunshine, I know Porkchop will be smiling down on us from all of the fond memories we had given him.
