In Memory of Paris
2004-2005

Miss Paris was almost 2 years old when she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. She was a brindle pied Russian import purchased from Tricia Slack, Riverside County, Southern California. She was surrendered to FBRN by the owner because she was a large rambunctious puppy terrorizing the household (looking more like a large Terrier with a small Frenchie head).
She absolutely hated cats and might have killed one if given half a chance. She loved people and most other dogs. She was a raucous player though and tended to grab with her mouth and teeth. It was not intended to hurt but she was never socialized with siblings, mother, etc. so did not learn about not biting or know her own strength and size. Her favorite activity was laying down at your feet for a belly rub.
She was on a special Diet, a combination of cooked chicken, cooked vegetables (greens, carrots, sweet potato) together with Yogurt and supplements. Dr. Robin Cannizzaro assisted with holistic remedies and suggestions on diet. At first she was vomiting all the time, drinking a lot of water and peeing very large puddles.
At the time of her collapse I was writing up information to post her, feeling that her medical problems were a thing of the past. It was a shock when our vet told me she was in complete organ (kidneys, etc.) failure and was not recovering with fluid therapy. She stood on the table then laid down for a belly rub and died quietly in my arms with Debra at my side. She was laid to rest next to Sweet Old Mac and special friend Winnie.
