“Gimme all your lovin”! The synthesizers are all keyed up with the arrival of ZEE, nicknamed “Zee Zee Top” by her first adoring foster mama. Zee arrived in FBRN thanks to the persistence of a Good Samaritan, who convinced her owners that it’s just not right for a dog to be underweight, itchy, and hairless, and that FBRN would help her to heal and find her a new home.
Zee was whisked to a vet almost immediately upon arrival in foster care. There were heavy rains and some washed-out roads in her neck of the woods, but Foster Mama knew an urgent case when she saw one. At the vet, Zee was given a shot of Ivermectin, dewormed, and prescribed antibiotics and prednisone. Any vaccinations she may need were put on hold until her system can handle the stress, and she will need to be more stable before her spay. Zee Zee Top didn’t come with any vet records, but after just a few days in foster care she’s accumulated quite a dossier at the vet’s.
Zee has a long road ahead being treated for her medical issues, and will have all the time she needs to adapt to life as a cherished pet, something quite foreign for this small, 18 month-old girl. Zee Zee Top is quite anxious about new things and does a lot of nervous licking. She has no idea what a toy is, or what a leash is for. She is quite stinky, but that hasn’t stopped her Foster Mom from petting and holding her (and giving her daily medicated baths.). Zee goes wild over organic yogurt, and shares with the resident dogs too, whom she’s made fast friends with. She has her own bed and bowl, and we bet this little one is experiencing the most restful sleep she’s ever had.
