Versailles crossed over the bridge this past week.

Betty Davis eyes, Marty Feldman eyes, take a peek at Versailles and you'll share our love for this one and a half year-old neutered fawn frogchild.

Versailles was surrendered due to constant regurgitation issues since his tadpole days. His poor mom, emotionally and financially drained, turned to FBRN for help. We are in the process of determining the underlying cause for these health concerns that plague our lovefrog. He will be undergoing a battery of tests in an effort to determine what we can and will be able to offer him medically. He is presently underweight, smelly, gurgly when breathing, host to roundworms, and in need of a throat specialist. You name it, Versailles may need it. Prior to entering FBRN, several vets suggested euthanasia but that's not a consideration for us. We are tempting his palate with a smorgasbord of foods, including hamburger and rice for dinner with a teaspoon of peanut butter for dessert. We already know he has a love for fast food: nothing like a double plain cheeseburger and a car ride to brighten his spirits. We are hoping pampering and sound veterinary advice will turn life around for Versailles.

We can offer some uplifting news about this boy. Perhaps it's the eyes or the sweet demeanor of this frenchie, but everyone loves him and he loves everyone. He has shown nervousness but no signs of aggression toward his many new human and frenchie friends. Underneath that beautiful fawn coat is a dear soul needing to find his way to a healthy life.

Versailles, suitcase in paw, has boarded the Underdog Railroad from AZ to SoCal, as he relocates to his special-care foster home. He will have quite a busy agenda, what with vet appointments, snuggle time, and Versailles time. If you have some spare change to donate toward his train ticket or a maybe the occasional In-n-Out burger, please let us know it's for the boy with the Marty Feldman eyes.
