Capt. Tuttle: Capt Tuttle (14 1/2) I think he's starting to like me. I can correct him now without fear of losing a hand. Talk about a dog that acts like he doesn't want a cuddle. He'll stand under your hand to get you to pet him, and always wants to know where I'm at, barking until I come get him.
FBRN often seems like a Frenchie MASH, with frogs post-op and in various stages of triage. So, we are very glad to welcome Captain Tuttle. He joins us along with his companion, Hot Lips. Tuttle was purchased as a puppy and lived happily with his owner for thirteen years. One day, still handsome and hearty, he was sleeping on the floor with a toddler using him as a pillow. When the youngster tried to stand on wobbly legs, she fell on Tuttles back. His reflexes kicked in and he snapped, making contact. Although he had never even growled before in all his years, he was evicted. Hot Lips was not involved in the incident, but she was sent packing too.
Tuttle is intact and has an eye for the ladies. He has a crush on the eighteen month old English Bulldog in his foster home. He had a broken leg in the past an old war injury, perhaps? And, his eyes are a little cloudy with age. But other than that he is growing old very gracefully and is a delightful gentleman. He made his foster momma laugh by trying to jump in the rain locker with her -- thats the shower to you, civilians!
Captain Tuttle is getting some R&R with us for a while. If you would like to help this old soldier out, please click on his picture to the right. |
