Welcome to Tonka, who true to his name is as solid as a truck. One of the 5 Frenchies known as the MO 5, Tonka is a handsome and quite calm frog. Many of his experiences in foster care are new to him: he doesn’t know what bowls are, toys are a new adventure for him and he loves grass! Especially rolling in the grass. This guy has handled all of these new experiences with a coolness and gentleness that made his foster family fall instantly in love with him. He spent most of his long journey to his foster home (and most of his time since arriving) being held and petted, and he isn’t looking back.
Tonka has his share of problems to address while in foster care. He needs a good dental exam as he has several teeth that are making it difficult for him to eat, he is very overweight, and he has a large sore between his toes on one foot. He has some discharge from his eyes, dirty ears and he’ll need to be neutered. In addition, he has almost non-existent nares so his foster mom is being very careful with him in the heat and with any exertion until he can be seen at the vet.
However, nothing seems to ruffle this gentle giant and he has quickly figured out how to ask his foster mom to pick him up. He learned very quickly to gently touch his foster mom on the leg and presto! He gets some immediate loving. Smart Frenchie!
