hospice dog

Sweet Bee has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 9/10/09

Sweet Bee's foster mom offered to take Sweet Bee before we knew the extent of her illness, but she didn't back out when we learned how sick Sweet Bee is. Here's what our volunteer wrote for the update: I spoke to [Sweet Bee's] vet in San Francisco and she couldn't believe how well she was doing. She confessed that she couldn't believe she was still alive, let alone bright and alert. I practice animal acupressure and I'm a veterinary technician, so when I saw that Sweet Bee needed hospice care I felt I could do the most good. I was told she was diagnosed in February when she got to FBRN. When I got her records I found out she has had kidney disease since 2005. She was much sicker than I expected. Sweet Bee is requiring much more time and attention than I originally planned, but the results are so rewarding. She is worth every minute.
