Happie Soux (one of the TX 12 puppy mill dogs) came out of her rabbit hutch with nothing but joy, joy, joy, joy deep down in her heart! She felt the grass under her feet and she jumped on it like a gamboling lamb--straight up! She rolled in it as if it were a downy comforter! She sniffed and snorted and grinned and frolicked so hard that she earned herself the name Happy. But that seemed insufficient, somehow. She was more than happy.
When her Louisiana foster mom came to fetch her and take her back to learn about being a dog, she said to herself, "That is a happy girl, alright, but if she's going to live in Louisiana, she needs a Louisiana flavored name!" So she added a French -ie to Happie, and called her Sue, but spelled it like the classic French white sauce called roux, and just because she could, she gave her another name: Badeux! Happy Sue Badoo! It fits her, too.
Happie Soux had worms and skin troubles and she's getting baths and medicine to clear things up. She'll need to be spayed soon, of course, but until then Happie Soux is luxuriating in fragrant earth and fresh grass and soft air and wide open spaces and all the other little lagniappes that life hands out, free of charge, to lucky, happy dogs.
