Rochelle’s previous owner realized that she was unable to take care of her and sadly surrendered her to FBRN. Rochelle is just a sweet, sweet old lady, probably around 8-9 years old. Her teeth are worn down and it is difficult to guess her age accurately.
Rochelle does NOT like being put into her crate. But she can speak, sit, and shake with both paws (assuming you have a treat as a reward)! She wants to be petted at all times and if you stop she will look up at you and bark "Hey! What do you think you're doing? Pet me, lady!" She likes to play with her foster fur brother - well, she tries anyway. She gives him a run for his money for a few minutes and then she has to take a rest!
Rochelle has obvious back problems with weakness in her hind legs. The initial vet visit found that she has some nerve damage from an old injury. Her vet doesn’t believe that she is in any pain. At some point she may be unable to compensate (by using her back legs like training wheels to keep her balanced while she walks) and need a cart for mobility. This sweet-faced little girl is also dealing with allergies and a fungal infection on her paws…and if that weren’t enough she also has a urinary tract infection. Poor girl just can’t catch a break! She will be getting medications and another trip to the vet to check progress in a few weeks.
