Princess is a special frog who encapsulates FBRN's mission in one adorable face. She is beautiful, fun-loving, love-loving and just needs a second chance to find her perfect home.

But, like any good drama, let us begin with her history. Princess is an 8 year old brindle lass, who for the past several years was confined to a utility room with little interaction or medical care. She had back surgery in 2005, but received inadequate aftercare/ physical therapy. Her hind legs are now paralyzed, and as is common in paralysis cases, she lost bladder and bowel control. As a result, Princess needs to be regularly manually expressed (what one FBRN volunteer lovingly calls the "Frenchie Press", for her geriatric baby.) Because Princess was not expressed, her bladder never emptied fully, and instead just constantly trickled overflow. Stockpiling stale urine in her body caused Princess to live with a chronic bladder infection. She also had sores on her underside and legs where the urine leaked, and her toenails were ingrown into infected paw pads.

Now, flash forward to today and imagine violin music swelling in the background, and floods of sunshine and laughter. After three or four good baths to wash away the embedded odor, and a trip to the vet, Princess is thriving. She gets along perfectly with the other dogs and the children in her foster family. She dissolves with joy every time she can share a hug, or cuddle or pat or even just a kind look with someone special. Her best friend is a handicapped pug in her foster home, with whom she plays enthusiastically and endlessly. She is absolutely overflowing with energy and happiness. And soon, Princess will have a forever family who understands that caring for her special physical needs is a million times over worth the effort.
