Otto is a charming gentleman with an excellent demeanor and a sunny disposition. He lived with his former family most of his life and it’s evident that he was well-loved. A few months ago, Otto lost the use of his back legs and was quickly taken in for corrective surgery, but it did not have the desired effect. When the family ran out of time and money to continue physical therapy, they chose to surrender him to FBRN.
Otto’s hind end is paralyzed, and his legs stick out to the side most of the time. Even so, this beautiful boy is full of life and personality. He enjoys playing fetch and will bring a toy over for fetch. It’s true that he can’t chase the tossed toy as quickly as the other dogs in his foster home, but he’ll patiently wait until the toy is left unattended and then he picks it up to bring it back to his foster mom.
Currently, Otto is on 3 different medications which he takes 3 times a day. If possible, we’ll explore physical therapy options and try to get him ready for a compassionate forever home that’ll take on this special boy. Until then, please consider sponsoring his medical care by clicking on his picture to the right. We know we ask for your support often, but we just couldn’t do our work without your always generous donations.
