Dear Santa…all I want for Christmas is for the itchies to STOP! So begins newest foster, Otissimus’, letter to Santa.
Otis, as he is lovingly called by his foster family, was surrendered due to allergies that were frustrating to manage and getting too expensive to afford. An old Frenchie story that, unfortunately, we’ve heard before.
Foster momma began Otis’ stay with her by whisking him off to the vet to treat a large, ugly looking hematoma. Now, with a drain in his ear, scrub for his irritated feet, medication for a skin infection and ear ointment for an ear infection, Otis is on the path to being comfortable again.
A mellow guy who sleeps quietly in his crate and doesn’t make a peep at kids, other dogs or anything else, Otis proved that he did NOT like being poked, prodded or otherwise manhandled at the vet’s office. Perhaps it was from the ouchy ear, but Otis threw a bit of a temper tantrum and wouldn’t let anyone touch him! After a bit of coaxing, sweet talking and a little sedative on the part of the veterinary staff, they were finally able to fix Otis right up. The real challenge will come for foster momma who will have to medicate those ears! Sounds like a few Christmas miracles are in order!
During this season of giving, perhaps you’d like to give a little something to help get Otissimus’ allergies under control? Or maybe a fun stocking stuffer instead? Just click on his handsome mug and tell us it’s for Otissimus. Thank you for all your support! |
