Opal, FBRN's little jewel in the rough, has resurfaced. Previously one of the OK 10, Miss Opal has been returned due to failure to peacefully coexist with the other dogs in her adoptive home. While she is getting along fine with the resident Frenchie in her foster home, Opal is vying for the top position, so we feel that she may do best as a single dog in her future forever home.

Aside from some minor battle injuries along her front legs, Opal is in excellent health. Her foster mom is in the process of transitioning her to a more natural, limited ingredient diet to see if it helps her allergies some.

A bit of a Nervous Nellie when she first arrived at her foster home, Opal is beginning to come out of her shell a wee bit. From a frightened girl who preferred to take her walks in the dark when no one was around, Opal, with consistent, positive reinforcement, has made rapid progress already! She is now able to enjoy lovely daytime walks with the security of the resident Frenchie by her side.

Foster momma is also working on Opal's house anxieties. She becomes nervous when left in a room alone or when she hears a noise but cannot determine its source. Housebreaking has improved as well. Just a few accidents within the first two nights, but it would seem Miss Opal has gotten the hang of what's expected of her already. Foster mom reports that Opal is progressing every day!

Opal is just the sweetest, most delightful little girl who only wants to be loved. Please click on Opal's pretty face to make a donation and help give her a second chance at happiness in the New Year.
