Magilla Gorilla came to us from a commercial breeding facility, and has some “deferred maintenance “ issues that need tending to before he will be ready for his forever home.
At three years of age (maybe younger) Magilla Gorilla, or “Mugs” is 22.5 lbs of 'hubba, hubba!” We swear at least five pounds of it must be his head – it’s as big as a melon! Now that he’s had a good bath he is gorgeous and smells sweet as a violet. He is also silly and non-aggressive thus far in his foster home. A real Frenchie athlete, Magilla Gorilla climbed his way out of his x-pen in about ten seconds flat!
As far as his physical health goes, he’s a robust boy but suffers from intestinal parasites, including whipworms. He needs a soft-palate resection, as he hacks up foam and mucus whenever he gets excited, and he will throw up his meals if not kept completely quiet for several hours after eating. He also has very stenotic nares and pyoderma on his boy parts and belly, so he's on antibiotics for that. He will be neutered after his body recovers a bit from the de-wormings and medication.
Magilla Gorilla would like us all to know that he does NOT like his belly band and went into all sorts of crazy (and rather hilarious) contortions trying to GET. IT. OFF! It will stay in place until he learns some house manners because he is prone to marking.
We know deep down that Magilla Gorilla is really a gentleman. He licked the kitten in his foster home and was not interested in the rest of the cats, greeted his foster dog brother with aplomb and courtesy and then busied himself exploring (and hiking his leg on) every nook in the house. A real diamond in the rough!
Magilla Gorilla could use some help with vet bills that will be piling up. If you can help, please become his sponsor by clicking on his picture and making a pledge.
