So you think you want a Frenchie? And who would blame you? Who can resist that adorable, squishy mug over there on the right? You’ve done your homework on the breed. You know that they can be prone to respiratory and spinal issues. Some are allergy prone. They can’t swim. They don’t tolerate heat or cold very well. They’re not jogging partners or boating companions. And boy, can they be stubborn! However, the average Frenchie breed book or website doesn’t tell you how deep that stubbornness goes.

Meet Louie Louie! He’s one of our many new fosters, and he was relinquished because, well, he’s stubborn! Not your average “I’m not doing that” stubborn. Oh no. LL just flat out refuses to be housebroken. Yes, one of the little known Frenchie facts, folks is that they can sometimes be extremely difficult to housebreak. His frustrated owner put every human effort into remedying this peeing boy. He was tested multiple times for urinary tract infections. Nope. LL is healthy as a horse. He was sent to a private trainer’s house for potty boot camp, but when he returned Louie Louie was still too lazy to go outdoors. After a very difficult and emotional decision, his owner decided to do what’s best for double L and turned him over to us.

Now Louie Louie’s foster mom has the difficult part. She’ll be spending her time trying to whip this boy into shape so he is equipped with the proper manners to go on to his forever home. Every time LL does his business in the out of doors it’s going to be a huge deal, worthy of a huge reward! Can you spare a dime for some extra special delicious treats for this frog? The tastier they are, the quicker the housebreaking will be, and the faster Louie Louie will be looking for his forever home!
