LooLoo has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Please read her memorial here.
LooLoo's former mom tried to do the right thing for LooLoo. Took her to the vet, took her to a specialist. But as time went on, LooLoo's condition got worse and worse and LooLoo's mom couldn't pay for the continual follow-up and her vet wasn't giving her any help in terms of getting LooLoo's skin and allergies under control.
When we picked up LooLoo, we were impressed by a couple of things: One was how much her mom loved her. Second, was how much LooLoo needed help in a hurry. Her ears are swollen shut, infected and full of fluid. Her skin is so badly infected that her foster family can't touch her without latex gloves--3 different kinds of bacteria are having a heyday and her poor skin has been so bad for so long we aren't sure it will ever be soft and grow hair again. One of her front feet is very hurt--looks like a tendon is completely broken down. And her spine is protruding through the skin on her back. We know LooLoo was fed--but she's not getting any nutrients from her food. That's a worry.
But if LooLoo is in bad shape physically, she's just fine emotionally! She's been loved and knows how to love back. She's enjoying her foster family and spending time with the little boy in the house. She's accustomed to life as a house pet and has made herself at home on the furniture. She follows her people around and supervises all the goings on like every nebby Frenchie girl we have ever met. She's a good girl.
Please help us get LooLoo's skin and ears cleared up, help us figure out what's going on internally with her, find out what she's so allergic to, and make LooLoo ready for a life with a family as far from the allergens that set her off as we can get her! We need your help to make LooLoo better. |
