3 year-old Lilo came to us as an owner surrender. She was exhibiting dog aggression. We are working on redirecting and training her out of the aggressive response.
Lilo is a beautiful girl! She's a well-trained girl, and came to us housebroken and crate-trained and with a perpetually joyful disposition. Training is going very well. Lilo has mastered "sit" and slams her tush to the floor at the first command--"sit" makes good things happen! Treats! Tummy rubs! Car rides!
Lilo gets to go to work everyday, and she loves it! She adores life, really. Loves the car ride to work, loves to fetch, loves to tug, loves to snuggle, loves to get dressed up for the chilly outdoors. She is even showing off little pink toenails, courtesy of her trip to the groomer's.
Life is a cabaret, folks!
Lilo does have some dog aggression--and she can be discerning when it comes to people, too--but her training and desensitization is coming along very nicely. She's generally respectful of the dog-savvy kitties in her foster home. She is carefully supervised during any interactions with other dogs, but she is now enjoying playtime with mastiffs and sometimes with a Brittany spaniel. Lilo doesn't seem to have preferrence for males or females, nor does size seem a factor in her aggression. Her aggressivity appears to spring from a combination of fear, resource guarding and status seeking.
Her foster mom reports that Lilo is doing just fine, and she is, with the exception of a quirk or two, an excellent candidate for adoption! If you'd like to sponsor Lilo as she finetunes her act, just click on the picture and tell us it's for Lilo!

Lilo, you look just like me and we have the same name! Just a little something to help keep your toenails looking pretty :)
