OKLAHOMA 10 PUPPYMILL
Henrie and two other dogs were standing on the table, while the voice of the auctioneer, the smells of unwashed people and sick and frightened dogs, the cries of the auction assistants acknowledging a bid, and the stench of cigarettes and an open cesspool swirled and deafened, confused and overwhelmed the dogs. Our bidders had a limit for each Frenchie and they doggedly bid on any in their price range. They were outbid, again and again, by people who intended to turn these pets into chattel.
Henrie waited. He watched. His ears, which should have been standing up, were floppy. Was that why his price remained low? Our undercover angels bid, held their breath, won.
Jubilation! Another one rescued!
Like the others, Henrie had an entire nation of ticks drawing their life from his life's blood. After a bath to reveal his true colors and to diminish the stench of life in a puppy mill, Henrie was transported with another foster to Louisiana, where he is having a blast! He's just a year old, and now that he has sufficient blood in his veins and a week's worth of decent food under his belt, he is simply gangbusters all over the yard, all over the house, playing his foolish head off and making people breathless with laughter. He's a toy-totin', naughty-chewin', curious and cuddly young goofball.
He's already been neutered, but we will be looking into palate surgery for him, since he's having some regurgitation problems. Also, he'll have to see a specialist for his hip, since it appears to be popping in and out of the socket. Uh-oh.
In the meanwhile, young Henrie could not be a bigger lovebug. Loves dogs, loves people, and looks nothing like the hangdog, frightened, filthy animal he was just a short time ago. With your help, he's going to have a future filled with happiness and hope. Click on his photo to make it happen.
