Creole has been adopted. 5/9/12
Here at FBRN we've spiced things up a bit! Meet Creole! He's one of the sweetest, most pungent and itchiest frogs we've had in a while.
Creole's foster momma has certainly got her work cut out for her with this wretched, stinky boy. His entire body is a galaxy of moist, sticky, open, bleeding sores. He is so bad that during a skin-soothing medicated bath, his foster mom reports that the bath water was continually brown and bloody.
As if his skin condition isn't enough, Creole is also sporting a gigantic ulceration to one of his eyes.
Spirited off to the vet right quick, Creole is already on a path that we hope will lead to comfort and well-being. In addition to regular medicated baths, Creole is eating a prescription diet and taking a course of steroids to try to alleviate some of his worst discomfort. Then it will be off to the dermatologist to see about a long term course of treatment. Eye drops to start healing that ugly ulceration round off his regime.
On the upside, the rest of Creole's exam checked out positively! Both his fecal and skin scraping were negative for any kind of creepy crawlies. His heartworm test was negative as well! Orthopedically and internally he appears sound.
Creole will be spending the spring in his foster home getting well, getting loved on and getting everything that spoiled Frenchies are entitled to, but he still has a way to go. Besides the dermatological treatments looming in his future, Creole needs a neuter and vaccinations when he is feeling up to par. Can you spare a buck or two to help out spicy, smelly Creole? Just click on his photo at the right and tell us it's for chère Creole. Thanks for your support!
