Sure ‘n begorrah, ‘tis St. Patty’s day and FBRN is celebrating by welcoming a little frog with an Irish name, Corky. A lovable lug with a smooshable mug, Corky is one sweet guy. His great big face and soulful eyes would charm the boots right off a leprechaun. A playful character, he has moved right in with his foster family, giving them plenty of giggles.

Corky was surrendered to FBRN because his family was unable to keep up with his medical care. He has a history of seizures and takes medication daily. Fortunately, he has not had any seizures since arriving in foster care. It is possible that he could have his dose reduced or tapered off with careful monitoring by his family. He also has a wobbly rear, which is because he has no hip sockets. This is not painful, but he should be kept from high impact jumping.

Corky enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home. When he runs and plays, his long body and loose hips give him a funny gait that is not your typical Frenchie shuffle. He has a good old time, as long as his playmates are not overly exuberant. Down time is spent chewing on a good Nylabone or snuggling with his favorite person, the eldest girl in his foster family.

A fine lad, Corky is housebroken and walks well on leash. He ignores cats and could live in a kitty-blessed home. Oddly, he has nipped his favorite human sibling twice. Both times were when he was startled at being awakened. He is a verrry sound sleeper, and must be awakened slowly. Although this behavior must be watched, who among us isn’t snarly when awakened suddenly from a nice snooze?

Corky’s got a lucky shamrock, but he needs your help to find the pot o’ gold at the end of his rainbow – a wonderful forever home. If you can give something toward his care, he’ll dance a little jig! Please click on his picture to the right, thank you!
