You ought to see my Cindy
She lives away down south
She's so sweet that honeybees
Swarm about her mouth.
Chorus: Get along home, Cindy Cindy
Get along home.
Get along home, Cindy Cindy
I’ll marry you someday.
American Folk Song
We haven’t seen any bees buzzing about Cindy yet, but know she’s as delectable as Tupelo honey. This one will be something special, just wait and see. It is her first few days in a real home, having recently been retired as breeding mom. Everything is new and wonderful, but scary at the same time.
Tremulous at first, five year old Cindy is gradually tiptoeing out of her shell. From sneaking up to give a kiss and running away, Cindy has progressed to snuggling with her foster mommy. When cuddled, she puffs out her cheeks in a most engaging fashion. Fascinated by her mirror image on the dishwasher’s door, she has probably never seen a reflective surface before.
Peeking out of her crate, sweet Cindy spies a toy. Making a mad dash to grab the object of her desire, she returns to stash it safely with the many others piled in the back of the crate. Happily, she arranges the pile to her satisfaction and sits on it. She doesn’t realize there are plenty more toys where these came from.
This lovely southern lady has already been to the vet for her initial check-up which revealed urinary crystals and a small hernia. Soon, she will go for her spay and to have the hernia repaired. Please click Cindy’s picture to the right to help her get ready for a life with toys and cuddles never-ending. Your donation will help with her needed surgeries. Thank you! |
