Don’t let his name fool you. This little guy is nothing but a love bug who enjoys nothing better than being his silly puppy self. At only 8 months old, Brutis is already quite of hunk of Frenchie deliciousness, so when full grown, we expect he’ll be as stout as his moniker. Brutis was surrendered to FBRN because his former owners did not have the time to devote to his care. As a result Brutis was spending upwards of 14 hours a day in a crate. As you might imagine, this kind of confinement has made Brutis truly appreciate the freedom of his foster home, running in the yard and playing in the house with his foster siblings. So far, he has been thrilled to pieces to chase the cute resident pug puppy around and around. In fact, we’re still waiting for this guy to slow down. He seems to be making up for lost time by trying to experience the whole world all at once.
Because he was in a crate for so much of his life, Brutis is broken down in the front on both feet, and his paws are a bit splayed. Brutis couldn’t be happier to be around other dogs, but he is just learning that human contact is a good thing, too. He can be a bit leery of a hand reaching down to pet him and will sometimes crouch to the ground. Brutis is such a love, though, and in spite of his fear, you can just tell he wants to be around his people. We know the snuggling will come in time. His foster mom will be working with him to become more comfortable with people, learning that human touch is wonderful and a loving home is exactly what he deserves. The vet will check out his legs and hips, all of which seem to have suffered a bit from being in such a small space so much. We think Brutis will be walking with a swagger in no time and will be ready to saunter into his forever home, stealing kisses and breaking hearts.
If you think you can give a little to help put the bounce back in this puppy’s step (and also steal the family jewels—shhhh, don’t tell him!), Brutis would be ever so grateful. Look out world, here he comes! |
