Barron is one of FBRN’s newest charges, a 3 year-old neutered male, who was surrendered by his former owner, a teenager who had rescued him from a bad situation. He had been kept in a kennel most of the time, and she knew she had to get him out of there. When he first arrived in FBRN, Barron was hacking up a lot of phlegm, due to an elongated soft palate, and one of his poor toofs was badly abscessed. Before you can say “Welcome to your foster home” Barron was whisked to the vet so that his health needs could be attended to. Fortunately, Barron is almost completely recovered from his soft palate surgery and the dental work he so desperately needed.
We wish this were the end of Barron’s health problems, but it isn’t. The poor boy has terrible allergies and a sensitive stomach to boot! The promising news is that Barron has been responding well to the new diet his foster mom has him on, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed and wait for more updates.
Coughs, a sore mouth, and sensitive tummy just won’t stop this boy, reports his foster mama! He gets along well with every dog he meets, and is great with kids. The boy loves his stuffed toys, and will show them off to anyone in sight! Barron has mastered “Sit” and enjoys his leash walks. He is housetrained too! Barron stays close to his people, and listens well.
We heard that Barron raised his paw in “thanks” to FBRN and his foster mom for helping him feel better, even if he still has a ways to go before he is fully well. Please keep in mind that there are no “small” donations to FBRN, as every dollar (or even one dollar) that you can spare helps a Frenchie like Barron breathe normally for the first time. So in case you are wondering if a donation that equals the price of a latte or the Sunday paper won’t be worth the trouble, just picture Barron proudly showing off his stuffies instead of wheezing in a crate, thanks to all the supporters who help!
To show your support, just click on Barron’s photo, and please leave him a note of encouragement too!
