The bases are loaded and the bleachers are almost filled to capacity with over 130 foster Frenchies in FBRN’s care! There are little Frenchies and big ones; seniors and puppies; healthy Frenchies and hospice Frenchies, and don’t forget the row of bat-eared troublemakers too! Some are wrasslin’ while others snooze. And of course there's the stubborn group mobbing the peanut guy for a treat!

One of our newest charges waits in the batter’s box: A-Rod! This big guy came into our care because of problems with another dog in his former home. A caravan of volunteers helped A-Rod to his foster home—and word is he made quite a few pals on his trip! It is also rumored that as he crossed the George Washington Bridge from Manhattan and merged onto the crowded turnpike, he did a Jersey paw pump! A-Rod's foster mama warmly welcomed him to the Garden State, and then whisked him to the vet, where he was prescribed antibiotics and ointment for his infected ears. And while not yet definite, it is likely A-Rod will need palate surgery so he can breathe comfortably. His heartworm test results came back negative, and he will need to be neutered. A-Rod has a problem with his feet; he drags his front paws, which are rubbed raw and bloody but look a little better after a few days. The vet speculates it could be a neck problem; let’s keep paws crossed it’s not a neurological issue! Back in his foster home, A-Rod enjoyed an entire round of spa treatment, enjoyed slow introductions to one of the resident Frenchies, and snuggled soundly with his foster mama on the couch.

It will be a while before A-Rod is in game shape—his paws need to heal, his breathing problem will need to be treated, and don't forget the snip too! If you can spare a little to help A-Rod get back onto third base, he’ll give a salute to the team of your choice—and, yes, that offer includes Mets fans, too! Just click on A-Rod’s handsome mug to your right to leave a donation of any amount, and those funds will go directly to the costs of medication and vet visits.

Bases are loaded, it’s top of the ninth, and our stadium is jammed with fosters who appreciate all that you do for FBRN! While 130 foster Frenchies make their best attempts at the wave, the scoreboard flashes “Thank you, FBRN supporters, for the donations that help with our care!”
