Adonis was adopted by his foster family.
Adonis came from a Good Samaritan that rescued some Frenchies from a puppy mill, and turned them over to FBRN for rehabilitation and rehoming. Adonis is relatively healthy, but very frightened.
His foster Mom says, 'Adonis is just the sweetest big lug of a boy that you can imagine. And a scaredy cat, too. He is afraid when you pick him up and will cower and run if he thinks you want to. Once in your arms, he holds on just as tight as he can. We have some special carrying to be done with him, but I'd better hurry as he should put on a couple of pounds, and then I'll be in trouble! There's not a mean bone in his body, although he was most interested in a cat when I took him to the vet today. He also cowers when you reach to pet him. And I don't think he has many front teeth on the bottom. He's mouthy -- but very gentle. He also de-stuffed a stuffie and generally made a mess, so I was about to call him Avalanche!'
After his neuter, Adonis will need some time to get used to the idea that people can be trusted: that he won't be dropped into a tiny cage ever again. Can you send a donation his way to cover his surgery or a few new stuffies? Click his photo to the right, and send him some get well wishes. |
