Up, up and away! Our man Zeppelin has lofty plans for his forever home. He tells his foster mom all about it every day. Zeppelin is a talker, for sure. He growly, growly, growls often. Touch his ears, give a bath or scritch his neck deliciously and he will mumble away. In his past, this may have been misunderstood as anger, but it is just Zep’s way of expressing himself. He also will whine a bit when his people are out of sight. He is a delightful, loyal companion who is going to be someone’s very best friend.

Zeppelin’s past is a mystery. He was bailed out of a shelter by one of FBRN’s volunteers. Wherever he came from, wherever he was going to, he has settled into his foster home with relative ease. When he first arrived, he had what his foster mom terms a “rusty” attitude. But it wasn’t long before his true, sweet self came shining through. He has never shown any type of aggression toward his foster parents, easily giving up toys and food. The boy does to eat though, and should be fed alone so he doesn’t hoover up everyone else’s meal!

Zeppelin is a big boy, and an active one. He loves doing things and going places. He would do great with a high energy single person or a family with older kids. Plenty of exercise seems to make him calmer and happier. He is learning how to play fetch and a fenced yard is very important to him so he can just run and romp about to his heart’s content. Zep is one of those dogs who is much more relaxed and at ease when he can work the edge off with exercise. When the day’s activities are done, he loves to snuggle on the couch and sleep in the people bed. He is so well housebroken that he won’t go to bed if he has to “go”, asking for the opportunity to relieve himself first.

Really a little dreamboat of a frog, Zeppelin is healthy, happy and smart. He already knows his basic commands and walks on a leash nicely. He would love to have someone home all day with him, but doesn’t need that and would do fine with a mid-day potty break. Remember, we said he was such a good boy about being housebroken? Would you be able to take a big, handsome boy to work with you every day? Zeppelin’s foster mom thinks that once there is a trusting relationship built, he will do most anything you choose.

She describes Zeppelin further, saying this about him, “Zeppelin is a big, brindle boy with a BIG heart. He loves to be with you, and wants your attention and approval. He needs rules, but he needs trust and love too. He is a great dog, and is just loving life here. He looks tough, but he really is just a softie. He has been a great addition to our home and will be missed when he finally finds his forever family. He deserves the best, and he will patiently wait while we search for his family.”

“Zeppelin needs someone that is willing to continue to work with him. I have found certain things have worked well with him and will share my knowledge with his future parents. He was misunderstood and mislabeled as a naughty dog. He really is not. He is very loyal to his people, and will make somebody a great dog. But he has his quirks too. A single person or a family with older kids would be great. He loves to travel, and is very active. No cats or birds, please. Another dog might be okay, but an only dog home is preferred. First time Frenchie people would be fine, but it would be best to have some experience with dogs.”

Do you fit the bill for this king-sized boy with an even bigger love to share? If so, get the lead out and get ready to build a stairway to the heavenly days you’ll enjoy with your own dear friend, Zeppelin. He’s snacking on some cheese in “America’s Dairyland” and will not be shipped.
