If your idea of the perfect evening is cuddling up with a good book and some Vino, have we got the guy for you! Vino is as laid back and mellow as his name suggests, and we’re looking for his perfect pairing. Vino was adopted from FBRN in 2009 and returned after undergoing surgery to remove a rock he had swallowed. He had ongoing complications following surgery and was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and also needed another surgery to remove a bladder stone. His owner did not feel that he would be able to financially handle Vino’s medical concerns and made the decision to return him to FBRN.
Since returning to us, Vino’s issues have become quite manageable. He is currently on a prescription diet and will need ongoing monitoring for any IBD flare-ups. Because of his history of bladder stones, he will also need to monitored for signs of recurrences, and his vet while in foster care recommends a urinalysis every three months or so. As long as his new family is willing to keep a watchful eye for any emerging concerns, Vino should stay in great shape for years and years to come...just watch out for those rocks!
Vino is a chill dude, but he does need some form of exercise every day. You’ve got to let a good Vino breathe, dontcha know? He loves to go on walks and is great in the car, so you could even do some “on location” exercise. Vino thinks the dog park is aces and loves having the opportunity to run and have fun in a large enclosed area. He is very appropriate with other dogs both at the park and at doggie daycare. He is busy and enjoys getting to know his friends without ever having any conflicts. As you can see, Vino has been very well-socialized, so having the opportunity to continue to hang out with other furry friends would be ideal.
Vino is housebroken and crate trained and although he doesn’t have any formal obedience training, he does have his wits about him. He knows not to run through an open door without and invitation and mostly just wants to please his people all the time. Vino’s idea of a perfect day would be a walk in the park, time to chew on his nylabone, and a human companion to cuddle and nap with. Vino would be great in a home with a single person or a family, but he’d be happiest with another Frenchie pal or two for playing and wrestling. Because of his potential health concerns, Vino would be best in a home with dog experience, but Frenchie experience is not mandatory.
This smooth fellow can handle a working family as long as he has a mid-day break for a walk and some lovin’, but he’d also be an excellent go-to-work pup. He gets along with everyone and is perfectly content to just hang out and nap. His ideal home would have a fenced yard, but he would be fine in other situations as long as his people are committed to making sure he gets good exercise every day.
Vino’s foster mom thinks this little guy is swell and then some. Here’s what she says: It has been a pleasure having Vino around, he fit in quickly and adapted to the routine of the house. He is a sweet, gentle dog who is just happy to do anything you want him to - car rides, walks, baths, play time, naps; it's all good as long as he is with his people! If you're a sucker for dogs that tilt their head in a really adorable way when you ask them a question then this is the dog for you! Between being beautiful, sweet, and completely housebroken, I think Vino is just about perfect!
I think we can all raise a glass to that! If Vino sounds like the perfect companion for you, put in your application now. But remember to start planning your trip to Nevada because this vintage guy will not be shipped.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Except in rare or unusual cases, adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter's home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.
