So buff, so brawny, Tuck is a strikingly handsome Frenchie guy. His appearance elicits smiles and big "Thumbs Up" responses! This two-year-old dude is thirty-two pounds of muscle and energy. He's not just a pretty face, either. Tuck is a really sweet guy who just needs some attention to open up and let his inner frog shine through.

Affable, good-natured Tuck gets along with humans large or small. Lovingly surrendered by a family with young children and too many obligations, he has been exposed to children aged from infancy to teens. He adores his fifteen-year-old human foster sibling, and is calm and gentle with the younger neighbors. He also loves his fur foster sister, who is about the same size and energy level as he is. He is good with other dogs but plays hard, so he'll need doggy siblings that can match him for size and activity.

Tuck had itchy skin when he first arrived in FBRN's care. But diligent flea prevention and a grain-free diet cleared all that up. He's had all his shots and has no other health problems. He got into a little trouble at the start of foster care, as he was used to letting himself in and out through a doggy door. Accustomed to controlling his own potty breaks, Tuck had some housebreaking accidents and episodes of marking. Given consistent hours and direction, he's with the program now, and proudly proclaims himself 98% housebroken! He is able to go for four hours between breaks, but should be kept in a restricted area when no one is home to help him stay out of trouble. Tuck has never been crated that we know of.

A card carrying member of FBRN's Stuffie Dismemberment Club, Tuck loves to rip those babies from limb to limb. His wish list for his forever home includes a nice steady supply of these delightful items at his disposal. Some good hard toys like Nylabones will help to prevent the accidental oops, like a chewed shoe. He plays roughly with his toys and his foster sister. The play can seem like fighting, but he doesn't nip. Children should be taught to be aware of this, though, and not encourage mouthy play.

Tuck has yet to be the light of someone's life. He is a sweet, lovable oaf who loves to be with his people and is gaining confidence all the time. His foster mom fondly outlines her hopes for young Tuck's future, "I really want Tuck to find his forever home where he will be a cherished member of the family. Another dog would be fine as long as Tuck was made to feel just as important. He would be fine in a home with adults or with dog-savvy children. I don't know about cats, so I would have to say no to avoid any potential problems. Experience with this breed would be preferred; however Tuck is a very 'easy' Frenchie in his care and temperament. It is a joy to watch him start to feel secure and loved."

She goes on to say, "Someone who is home all day would rock Tuck's world. He follows me everywhere I go, sitting patiently near me until I move. However, if someone could come in mid-day to let him out and play with him, and then give him plenty of time in the evenings that would be okay. If there isn't a person home during the day, I prefer that there be another dog with him. He is used to a house with a fenced yard, so that would be preferred. However, if not he would be fine as long as he got lots of walks and exercise."

"I haven't taken him to the office but he would probably do fine. He is very calm in new situations and he rides well in the car. A harness is needed as he likes to move from window to window which is potentially distracting and dangerous."

Tuck has responded well to a consistent routine and loving discipline. If you can give him that kind of home, he will be by your side always, gazing at you with big brown eyes full of joy. He is waiting now for your everlasting love in palmy, balmy southern Florida. Buy some gas, get ready to go. Tuck's waiting with his harness on and will not be shipped.
