TX Dot's life before coming to FBRN was not a pretty one, and the nicest thing that can be said about her former owners is that when they dumped her, it was at a vet's office. Specifically, the woman who handed the leash of seven-year-old Dot to a vet tech instructed, "Put her to sleep or find her a home." And she walked out.

TX Dot has been used as a breeder for her whole life. She's a pretty little thing, and except for having very few teeth, she seems in good shape. And apart from her previous life, what a lucky girl TX Dot is! The vet's office took her in, spayed her, and nurtured her before turning her over to FBRN to find a forever family.

While in foster care, she has been making up for lost time. Because her former life was so stark, Dot now acts remarkably like a puppy. She is energetic, untrained, and likes to chew. She isn't housebroken and goes on concrete because, sadly, that's what she's always had to do.

Dot's opinions about kids and cats aren't known, but her foster mom thinks she'd be fine with older kids. She hasn't been around lots of other dogs, but she plays well with her two foster siblings, both frenchies. However, she is a dominant personality and gets mad when they approach her crate or food. She won't do well with another dominant dog.

Because of these needs, TX Dot will need to have a family where someone is home much of the time. Someone who has a part time job or works from home would be ideal. Since she hasn't learned to walk on a leash yet, a fenced yard is preferred.

It will take patience, affection and ample time to teach TX Dot that a much-loved family companion has to live by a whole different set of rules than a walking uterus. But she's game if you are!
