Mmm, who doesn't love sweet Taffy?! Another breeder surrender, who spent her life in a cage as a puppy maker, Taffy arrived in FBRN's care not ever experiencing the feel of grass under her feet and afraid of any sudden movement. She was infested with fleas and worms and as a result she was severely underweight. Thanks to Taffy's foster mom, she has overcome her past and is ready to begin the new chapter in her life as a loved and adored Frenchie in her own forever home.

Taffy's only ongoing health concern is chronic dry-eye and will need eye drops everyday for the rest of her life. She's been spayed and had a visit to the dentist, so her breath is oh so kissable fresh. Taffy has not lived with children in her foster home, so it's unsure how she would be with younger kids. Because of her personality, it would be best if her human siblings are older and quiet.

Taffy is a quiet frog who enjoys eating, sleeping and belly rubs. She is still not comfortable making herself at home on the furniture or her human's lap for a snuggle, but with time and love she will most likely turn into every other spoiled FBRN grad. Taffy is learning the joys of playing with toys. So far, her favorite things are stuffies and deer antlers. When it comes to food, Taffy is a huge fan! She'll wolf down her food if given the chance. She currently devours her meals in the same room as her foster fur siblings; however, she is watched carefully so that she doesn't try to swipe everyone else's food. Taffy isn't necessarily food or toy aggressive, she just needs to be reminded that not all things are hers to take.

As sweet as Taffy can be with some dogs, there are others she just can't seem to get along with. If it's on her terms, Taffy enjoys a game of Frenchie chase and tumble. Like most retired breeders, she is a dominate girl who will not back down from challenge brought on by another dog. As long as the other dog in the home isn't dominating and will not challenge her, Taffy would enjoy a fur sibling.

Taffy, being a former puppy mill dog, has had no formal training of any kind. She is now mostly house trained, as long as she is taken out on a frequent and consistent schedule. She knows to go outside to potty and will let her foster mom know when it's time. Taffy is crate trained and actually prefers to sleep in her crate when given the choice, however she does much better when the door is left open.

Taffy's ideal home would be quiet and without a lot of activity. She prefers not to be alone so a cat or submissive fur sibling is needed. Former puppy mill dogs are very special and require patience and lots of love to help bring them out of their shell. While Taffy is an easy Frenchie, someone who has the heart and experience to help her along her journey in leaving her caged life behind, would be good for her. Taffy could live in an apartment; however she would probably do best in a quieter setting. Taffy isn't different than most Frenchies who prefer to have their human at their beck and call 24/7, however she could adapt to a household where her humans work outside of the home. She would need to have someone let her out for potty breaks though. Taffy is so easy going; she would make a great office companion as long as it's not a loud, busy environment.

This is what Taffy's foster mom had to say: "Taffy is a sweet lady who asks for very little, yet deserves the very best. Ideally, she will live in a quiet place where she can continue to blossom. Loud noises, harsh voices, and sudden movements will cause her to regress, so her forever family needs to be willing to work with her to help her become more confident."

Throw on the winter coats and mittens to pick Taffy up in person in Missouri because she will not be shipped.
