Eight month old Skooter is an adorable party in puppy form. He was very well cared for and loved in his former home, but working long hours left too little time for this boy, and his family wanted more for him. He would make a fantastic addition to almost any family. He's just a bundle of bliss!

Skooter is hale and hearty. His only health issue is a small, benign umbilical hernia that could be repaired only if he’s ever under anesthesia for some other reason. He also has more nose and an easier time breathing than many frogs, so he would be okay for first time Frenchie owners.

Skooter is very well-socialized, happy and energetic. He loves all friendly dogs and is submissive without being wimpy. If challenged, he just backs down and goes to find another playmate. While in foster care he charmed all the resident dogs, and even managed to bring one shy and retiring puppy mill foster dog out of her shell to play. And as for the people, well, they’re all wrapped around his wee brindle paw!

More than anything else, Skooter lives to play. Sure, he will pencil in some mealtimes, snuggling, Nylabones, and naptimes on his busy schedule, but then it’s back to playing. He has lots of energy to burn off and needs plenty of time to do so every day. He wouldn’t do well as an only dog and needs to be with one or two equally joyous frogs or similar-sized dogs for playmates. The boy must play!

Skooter hasn’t had much training. He is about 80% housebroken. He has a preference for going outside, but if you don’t keep an eye on him… well, it’s only a preference. He tolerates the crate, but needs a treat to coax him in and cries for a few minutes. His new home needs to commit to obedience training to help direct his energy. As an energetic puppy, he will need attention and direction to flourish.

Skooter could be happy in many homes because he is such a naturally carefree and loving kind of guy. He absolutely adores people, including kids, but is too rambunctious for little ones under 8 or so. He is fine with cats, but would probably be too curious and playful for birds. His investigations could harm small ones and big ones could respond by harming him!

Because he isn’t leash trained yet, Skooter needs a home with a fenced yard. He would love someone who is home all day, but would do fine in a workaday home where he got lots of exercise and a mid-day break… filled with more exercise. For now, he’d need to be crated while his people are away to keep him safe and out of trouble. At the moment he’s too young and excitable to go to an office.

If you’d like the paaaar-tay that is Skooter to move to your house, there’s a trip to the Volunteer State in your future. Skooter is currently working the crowd in East Tennessee and will not be shipped.
