Rosalie is a tiny little bit of thing, but her size is deceptive. Although petite in stature, Rosalie is big on personality and has a lot of love to give. Rosie was found as a stray in a park, and thus began her journey in FBRN to start the search for her forever home.

Rosalie thinks people are just grand—young, old, strangers, friends, adults, kids… If they want to love on her, she’s a fan. As far as cats, she doesn’t show much interest one way or the other. So, if you have the rare cat that wants to engage pups in play, Rosalie may not be the right dog for you. However, she’d love to live in a house with cats where they can all do their own thing and peacefully coexist. Rosalie gets along well with dogs of all sizes (especially males), but submissive dogs would probably be best because she prefers snuggling to playing.

Don’t get the wrong impression! Even though Rosie is pretty chill with other furry friends, she’s quite a hoot. Her foster mom describes Rosalie as the funniest Frenchie ever. She bounces around like Tigger and just loves, loves, loves to bound around the backyard and run and run. Rosalie isn’t much for toys; she just likes to perform for her people. Rosalie doesn’t have any formal obedience training, but she does come when called and will lay down on command. Rosie is a sensitive soul and wants only to please. If she gets in trouble, all that is required is a stern look. Her face falls, and she goes to spend time alone and think about what she did wrong. Because she is so easily upset by corrections, her new parents can never raise their voices to her. It will crush her, and she will go and hide for the rest of the day.

Rosalie is mostly housebroken and mostly crate trained. She doesn’t like to go outside by herself, so she’ll either need human accompaniment or other dogs to follow out. As long as she has that, Rosie does quite well with her potty manners. Similarly, she is crate trained and will behave herself in the crate, but if her people are about, it just isn’t an option to not be with them.

Rosalie is a super smart girl! She picks up on things easily, and because she wants nothing more than to please her people, obedience class would be an excellent idea both for bonding and to help her gain some confidence. Rosalie has absolutely no health issues to speak of after getting over her heartworm treatment and a lung infection, but she does demonstrate some guarding behaviors with her food and her bed. She has only given warning growls, though, and has never gone after another dog. Rosalie sets clear boundaries, and other dog must be willing to abide by those boundaries in order to maintain domestic bliss.

Rosalie is a velcro dog, through and through. She attaches herself to her foster mom’s leg and follows her everywhere. Because she’s so little, it’s not uncommon for her to be carried around for most of the evening so she can have her closeness and cuddling. Rosalie’s ideal home would be an adult home with submissive, tolerant dogs who don’t mind having their faces licked all the time. Although she does well with children, Rosie is a darter. She is very fast and makes for an open door (one that might have been accidentally opened by a youngster) like her life depends on it. Because of this, strong preference will be given to applicants with a fenced yard where the gates are locked or to apartment-dwellers who would only take her out on lead. She ADORES walks in public where she can be a little star and meet new people. She walks beautifully on a leash and really enjoys riding in the car, so she’d be happy to go any where with you.

Rosalie can do well on her own during the day while her people are at work, but a mid-day break would be great. Of course, since she’s a needy baby, someone who is home all day would be idea. Rosalie would also make a wonderful office dog as long as there aren’t doors for her to run out of. She’d be perfectly content to lay on her bed at your feet all day long while you work away.

Rosalie’s foster mom just adores her little girl and wants the absolute best home for her. She tells a little about tiny Rosalie here: "She is my favorite foster we have ever had. She is the most loving dog and is so sensitive that you cannot help but want to hold her all the time. She is always in my arms or in my lap getting her belly rubbed. If she sees me she is looking at me with the most pitiful look and waits for me to pick her up. I have spoiled her and she deserves every bit of it."

If you have room for a tiny girl who wants nothing more than to be snuggled every minute, put in an application for Rosalie now. Beautiful Rosalie is being fostered in the DFW, Texas area and will not be shipped.
