If you're blue and you don't know where to go to
Why don't you go where fashion sits…
Puttin' on the Ritz -- Irving Berlin
Don’t be blue – you can go to where fashion sits. Not only does she sit, but she dances and twirls for your attention. She is FBRN’s Ritzy, a creature of style who is chockablock full of Frenchie personality. She’s blond, she’s beautiful, and she will make you fall in love. No time like the present to adore this winsome froggy with her enticing little pokey out pink tongue. Ritzy is a wonderful companion waiting for the right human family to come along and claim her love.
Don’t get us wrong – she is a darling, but not a diva. Ritzy’s needs are pretty simple. She is very low key around the house. She likes to play some gentle games of fetch with her stuffed bear, or sit on the couch and cuddle. She will take any open lap, but has a special affection for the man of the house in her foster home. Looking toward her people for guidance, she is anxious to please. Ritzy thinks kids are the tops, but children should be dog-savvy and respectful of her. She was surrendered because she reportedly nipped at grandchildren’s heels, but she is doing just fine with the two and five year olds in her foster home. Dog-savvy children know not to be frightened and run away. When not cuddling or entertaining a handy human, Ritzy loves to find the best sun spot and bask or chew her Nylabones. Sun and Nylas – perfect together!
Quiet and lady-like inside, Ritzy gets spunky outside. She thinks she is the biggest dog on the block and doesn’t mind telling everyone about it. Whether the perceived intruder is a tiny Chihuahua or an enormous Rottie, she makes her point clear. “This is my yard, not yours. Go away and thank you very much,” she exclaims! Ritzy enjoys going for walks in the cool of the evening and she can walk two miles with no problem. In fact, her foster mom says that even though she is eight, Ritzy acts like a dog half her age.
Ritzy has learned how to coexist with other creatures in her domain while in foster care. She tolerates the dogs and walks past the cats. But, her foster mom thinks she would really thrive where she can be just where she should be – in the center of the limelight as a special only dog. If there is another dog in her life, she will want to be the dominant one and may not share toys and food nicely. She would be great in almost any kind of living arrangement. Here’s the Frenchie for you, apartment dwellers! She could be an office companion and assistant par excellence. Or she will wait contentedly at home with a nice mid-day break so she doesn’t have to cross her little legs. She is kept in her kennel at night in foster care and keeps it spic and span. The kennel is because of the kitties, but we would be willing to wager that she would enjoy sharing your satin covered sheets with you in the big people’s bed at night.
Ritzy is basically a sound and healthy little Frenchie, but her previous owners said that she had bladder stones at one point. She has no signs of stones now, and formation of urinary crystals can easily be monitored with regular check ups.
Ritzy’s foster family has fallen in love with this girl and can’t wait for her to find her special home where her tricks and sweetness will be cherished. This is what her foster mom says, “Ritzy is the most happy and well-behaved girl. She will be a wonderful dog for anyone ready for a smart and easygoing girl like her.”
So grab your top hat and tails, step up quick – get ready to put on the Ritz. Our little blondie is waiting for the limo to arrive so she can be your new dancing partner for life. She’s in the big sky Country of Montana and you should know that our Frenchies will not be shipped!
