Pooter was found at a shelter. He’d had unsuccessful surgeries to correct a prolapsed rectum, and our specialists’ opinion is he may never have full control of his bowels. He wears a diaper and he has a lovely wardrobe of hand-made suspender britches to keep the diaper on. Apart from that, he is a healthy, silly young Frenchie!

Pooter was found at a shelter. He’d had unsuccessful surgeries to correct a prolapsed rectum, and our specialists’ opinion is he may never have full control of his bladder and bowels, and may always leak a little bit. He wears a diaper and he has a lovely wardrobe of hand-made suspender britches to keep the diaper on. Apart from his leakage troubles, he is a healthy, silly young Frenchie!

We’d love to see Pooter go to a home with other dogs! He’s fine with kitties, too. Pooter is just over a year old and he still has alot of puppy playfulness. He is definitely a happy camper and more on the submissive side. His activity level is fairly moderate - he is happy with a neighborhood ramble. He loves to play for a while and then come snuggle on the couch. He is the best couch-buddy ever!

He’s still a puppy, and he does that puppy thing where he chases kids and nips at their feet and bites their trouser legs, so we think he should go to a home where the kids are old enough to deal with his foolishness. He loves his people, he’s very smart, and a quick learner.

In terms of training, whether or not he’s housebroken is a tough question for a diaper boy! Here’s what his foster mom says: “I think he is housebroken. I say this because when I get home at lunch and remove his diaper he goes straight out and poops/pees. Same in the evenings. So, I think he knows to "hold it" when he's inside. However, due to his slightly leaky back end, he is rarely left inside without a diaper on. He goes diaperless at night and is trained to "go to bed" inside his crate. He is learning to 'Sit' on command and we are working on leash manners.”

This is what his foster mom said about Pooter: “His favorite thing to do is to get a running start and launch himself head-first onto the couch. It is the cutest and funniest thing I've ever seen! It is like he's head-butting the back cushions on the couch. This boy definitely loves his couch time! He is content laying around on the couch for hours whether you are on the couch with him or not. He loves his Nylabone and he's also partial to stuffies. He is often the play-time initiator and will get the other dogs engaged and before you know it, there are Frenchie zoomies from one room to another.”

We’d like Pooter to go to a home with another dog or two and maybe older kids who will snuggle or play. We’d also like him to have a fenced yard so he can run around “naked” outside. But we’d consider an apartment home for Pooter if he could get lots of walks or a daily trip to a dogpark. We would love a home-all-day person, but someone who could come home for lunch to put him out would be ok. He’d be fine at work, since he spends his days baby-gated in the kitchen. He has a splashy wardrobe of britches he could wear and he’d surely lift workplace morale!

Here’s a last word on Pooter from his loving foster mom: “Pooter has the most soulful eyes and he is just so cute! He is a sweet little dog who has no problem making friends with everyone he meets. He plays in short bursts and zooms around the back yard with the resident Frenchies. He is calm and loves to lounge around on the couch whenever possible.”
