Please read this essay on the special needs of puppymill dogs before you apply for Kerrie.

How can you not love a cock-eyed optimist? This playful puppy with the floppy ear thinks the whole world is hers to explore. One of the Oklahoma 10 puppy mill survivors, it is totally amazing that she exudes such cheerfulness. Kerrie is smart and happy but inclined to be just a bit stubborn.

Did we say she's smart? Kerrie has gone from not being housebroken to about 80% trained in just a few short weeks, and is working on fetch and the basic sit-stay commands. She comes when called and is very good about letting you know when it is time to eat. But, with that winsome look she can easily wrap you around her little paw before you even notice, so obedience training or experienced puppy parents are a must.

Kerrie loves to romp with her foster-sibs, so she needs to be in a home with another dog that is willing to play endlessly, and she would love to have older children around to for games of catch-me-if-you-can. She will even play with the cat if one is around. Though no real aggressive behavior has been shown, Kerrie can be a bit rough when it comes to tumbling around on the floor with playmates, and needs to be monitored until she has learned to balance her enthusiasm with the sturdiness of her playmates. She also occasionally tries on "I am the boss" superiority, but can't keep up the act.

So, if you have a place in your heart for this six-month-old ball of fun along with a soft bed, an endless supplies of chewies and a securely fenced yard, this happy, healthy puppy would love to have you put in an application. She's waiting for you in Oklahoma and she won't be shipped!
