Joy to the world
All the boys and girls now
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea
Joy to you and me.
_ Hoyt Axton

Not a bullfrog like Jeremiah, but a bulldog and delightful little frog dog, Joy is everything you would want your little Frenchie to be. Cute and friendly, she loves both man and beast. Bring on your cats, kids and other dogs and Joy will greet them all with equanimity. As her foster mom tells us, “If you are looking for a Frenchie to walk right in and be a part of the family from the beginning, then Joy is the one.”

Very adaptable, Joy is happy to do whatever you choose. She plays for a little while with the dogs in her foster home, and then naps in the comfiest chair. If they are not in the mood to play, that suits her fine too. She can entertain herself with her Nylabones and chew toys. Quietly companionable, she would love to join you for some snacks and TV. She relishes being loved on with belly rubs and ear scritches.

Her sweet personality would make her an ideal office mate. Joy likes to meet and greet, yet is quiet so you can concentrate. Although a fenced yard to sun herself in would be a wonderful thing for this frog, Joy would be equally happy in a condo or apartment as long as she is loved.

Joy’s charming temperament is particularly striking considering her past. She was rescued from a shelter where she ended up with twenty-nine other dogs following a backyard breeder bust. Her new family should be considerate of her past. Foster mom explains, “Joy needs a home that understands that she was a breeder for the first part of her life. She has grown a great deal in a short time, but needs someone to help her so she can continue to grow. She has never met a stranger, and is very social for a dog with her background.”

Our girl Joy has good manners. She has learned a few basic commands and is housebroken if kept on a regular schedule. If there isn’t someone home during the day, it will be important that she have a mid-day break so she can keep up her housetraining. She is very good in her crate. A little protective of her food, she is not overly aggressive about it.

There is the mild start of a cataract in Joy’s left eye and a healing ulcer in her right eye. The ulcer will require eye drops for six months. One month of the treatment has already been completed. Other than that, she has no health problems to worry about.

In closing, Joy’s foster mom tells a bit more about her, adding: “Joy is a sweet girl who wants to have a forever family to love. She is a little social butterfly which is amazing when you know the kind of background she has.”

“Her eye is healing wonderfully and the specialist believes she will have no problem with it at all. She does need to have drops once a day in both eyes and that is it. Very easy and she allows you do it without a fuss.”

“I want to see her in a family that will love and cherish her for the wonderful girl that she is. She would do well in a family, couple, or single person home. She has no real aggression issues and just loves to be loved. She will play or just lay around with her family watching a movie. This girl will make some lucky family very happy.”

If you want to bring some Joy to your world, apply for her today. She will be waiting in for you to sweep her off her little feet. Not to far from the deep blue sea, Joy is in Florida and is much too precious to ship.
