Joli has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Joli has pneumonia that is resistant to treatment. Her 3 vets are all stumped. We will be providing palliative care for Joli.

Joli is a beautiful, small Frenchie girl who is ready to find her forever home. Lovingly surrendered by her previous family when the kids went off to college and there was no one home for many hours at a time, Joli knows the life of a cherished pet and is anxious to find her new family.

Joli is a happy girl, she loves people and people love her. She is very entertaining and a social butterfly, but she is also strong willed and wants to be Alpha all the way! She is housebroken and crate trained and she loves a good chew toy, but her favorite activity is hanging out with her people.

Joli likes kids of all ages and has great doggy manners! Alas, having been an only dog her entire life, Joli doesn’t understand sharing food or toys. Because of this she should be placed in a home with no other dogs. Joli has had a moderate tracheal collapse and will always be at risk for pneumonia. Her health is good now and she’s full of spunk, but she is an 8-year-old gal and will need to be closely monitored.

Since Joli is older, resident children should be 8 or older and dog savvy. Joli needs a person who can set boundaries. She needs to know her person is in charge especially when encountering other dogs such as at the Vet or pet store. Jolie does well with other dogs on walks, but because she demands all of the attention, she does not take too kindly to resident dogs having the nerve to think they should get attention from the people too. As a result, she would be best as the only dog in her home. However, she's more than happy to share her home with skin kids. She thinks they're the cat's meow!

Joli would do very well in almost any family, as long as there are no other pets. Divas do not share well. We think she would acclimate to almost any kind of home environment (house, apartment, condo) and she doesn’t require a fenced yard.

Of course, she would prefer to be with someone who is home all day with her, but she is fine to be home while someone works outside the home as long as they are home most nights to spend time with her. After spending so much time alone in her previous home, she will not be placed in the same situation again. We think she would do great in an office situation as she minds well and stays close to people.

A few closing words from Joli’s foster mom, “Joli will always have a special place in my heart. Shortly after she came to me, she became very sick. The vets didn’t know if she would make it, and things didn’t look good. FBRN decided the best plan of action was to spoil her and make her last days as happy as we could make them. So that is what I did, she even had a French fry or two. Joli may be small but her spirit isn’t. This girl is a pistol, she is fearless and feisty and I truly believe that is why she is here with us today. If you have a place in your heart and home for a little girl with a big personality then please consider her. ”

Like a true stunning Hollywood Diva, Joli is living the dream in Southern California. If she's your kind of gal, be prepared to pick her up in style…in person.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Except in rare or unusual cases, adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter's home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.
