Jeep is big, strong, and definitely ready for some adventures. This is Jeep’s second go around with FBRN, and this time we know the right forever home will come along.
In his foster home, Jeep gets along splendidly with the resident Frenchies and together they burn off lots of energy. He was returned to FBRN because he was reportedly not getting along with the other dogs and was sometimes urinating in the house. However, neither of these behaviors have shown up at all in his foster home. Jeep gets along well with Frenchies, but doesn't seem to enjoy the company of other dogs, and needs slow, careful introductions at places like dog parks where he might meet other dogs.
This frog dog has a clean bill of health and is ready to find a home where everyone likes to play before settling down for a cuddle. Jeep is a happy camper who can also be a bit of mischief-maker. For this reason his forever home should be willing to keep him crated when alone, or at least confined to keep him safe and out of trouble when his people are away. He will need long walks to keep his energy level in check. Jeep is a playing machine, and loves to fetch, chase and chew on his favorite bone!
Toys are Jeep's favorite thing! Balls, stuffies, rope toys, bones: Jeep loves anything he can play with! After breakfast his favorite thing to do is grab a toy and squeak it as he makes the rounds through the house. After a good hour or so of play, Jeep becomes the cuddle machine! He wants nothing more than to sit on his person’s lap and be loved. In his world there is no such thing as being too close to his people.
Jeep is crate trained and housebroken and does especially well with access to a doggy door. However, he would do well in any type of home as long as gets plenty of exercise and has at least a midday potty break. With the help of a baby gate, he would also do well in a working or office environment.
Here’s a word from his foster mom:
"Jeep has stolen my heart! He is a big goofy guy with nothing but love to give! He is a true clown, and can make your day with that big Frenchie smile. He has been a very easy foster, and will continue to be a good boy with a family who is willing to give him the rules, structure and love that he needs."
So if you know a little bit about establishing rules, have plenty of time to exercise, and are willing to cuddle for hours on end, Jeep may be the right dog for you. This guy deserves his very own forever home, so consider your situation seriously before taking the plunge. He’ll be relaxing in his central Arizona foster home until the right person or family comes along.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Except in rare or unusual cases, adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter's home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.
