Jacob is a handsome, happy guy who can’t wait to find his forever home. And we know he’ll appreciate it! Jacob was on death row at a shelter in Southern California when FBRN became aware of him and started working to save his life. The shelter had decided he was aggressive, and he was scheduled to be put down. As you might imagine, being in doggy jail can put even the most wonderful pooch in less than ideal humor, and FBRN just knew that there was more to Jacob than the story that was being told. And we are thrilled to say that Jacob is a wonderful, wonderful boy! He is an active little guy, still in the puppy stage, really, but he still cherishes his cuddle time.

Jacob LOVES to go for walks, and he is very polite on a leash. As often as you want to go for a walk, Jacob is right there, ready and willing. He is EXCELLENT on the walk. He is super smart and is very eager to please. Jacob is a follower and enjoys having a capable leader. He has absolutely fabulous manners, but he still has adorable puppy moments that will make you laugh in spite of yourself. Jacob just loves to run, and boy is he fast! Seriously fast! He’d be great at agility or flyball, and the training would make him an even more perfect pet. Because of his activity level, Jacob would be happiest in a home with a large yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content. He loves other dogs and has lived with Frenchies young and old, large and small. He gets along with puppies that are a mere 9 lbs. and a big foster doggy brother who is a whopping 37 lbs. Jacob also think kids are the bomb and has enjoyed every minute with his 9-year-old foster sister.

Jacob has zero health issues. He is in tip-top physical shape. Because of his situation at the time he came into FBRN, his foster mom has done extensive temperament testing with him, and he has never shown the slightest aggression. When she takes his food or toys away, Jacob just looks at her with a pleading expression, as if to say, “Can I pleeeease have that back?” This boy gives new meaning to the expression “puppy dog eyes.” Jacob is also housebroken and crate trained, and he knows some basic obedience commands. He has been pack trained in his foster home as well, so Jacob is well-socialized and is ready to share his new life with some canine pals.

Jacob’s favorite things are playing tag with the 9-year-old child in his foster home, taking walks, and chewing on Nylabones. He’d be happiest in an active household with lots of activity, kids to play with, and a big backyard.

Jacob would do fine in a home where his people worked because he does enjoy some quiet time in his crate, but a mid-day tinkle and walk would be great. Jacob just wants to be with his people and enjoy every bit of the life he so grateful to have. His foster mom has this to say about him:

He is GREAT on car rides and just loves going with you wherever you go.

Here are some words from his foster mom: "Have I mentioned Jacob is an active boy? He LOVES to run and play...he will do laps around the house then stop and look at you as if to say..."Is this ok?" and with the "go on" command he will do it again! I feel his high energy was mistaken for aggression, because he is not dominant or aggressive. I just love that when he stops he talks to you with his eyes, whether to say "Can I have THAT back please?" or "Am I being a good boy?" or "Ok I'll stop, but let's do SOMETHING!" And if you pick him up, he just melts in your arms, and gives lots of kisses. I love how Jacob is SOOO willing to please and just loves to be with you. He is a superstar on the leash, so I want him to have humans in his life that will walk him daily. Jacob is a special boy that needs that special home that will keep him active and satisfy his playful side."
