Good things come in small packages, and our Ione Skye is a tiny jewel of a frog for sure! Since she came to us with no information from her previous owners, she has done an admirable job of reinventing herself during her time in foster care. While she may be tiny in size, Ione makes up for that in the size of her personality and heart!

Ione is a 3 year old spayed female Frenchie. She is 14 lbs and while tiny, she is very healthy. She has been thoroughly checked out by her vet and given a clean bill of health. She is a mellow little girl with very few requirements, except that her forever family adore her. She likes older kids who are respectful of her short stature; this would not be a Frenchie one could roll around on the floor with. She likes other dogs that are calm and playful. She shares nicely until it comes to her food bowl, and then the only problem is that she wants to eat her own food and not share. She does like to chase cats (who can really blame her?) and she also chases birds in her yard. A fenced yard is required because she will chase all manner of small things. She is working on her housebreaking skills and is nearly there, but she does need to be kept on a schedule. She should not be left alone all day or there is a good possibility she will regress. She is crate trained but hates to be crated when her people are about.

As for her personality, her foster mom describes her as one of the sweetest, snuggliest and laid-back frogs she has ever met. Ione would be a great companion for a retired family looking for some company, grandparents with visiting grandchildren or a first time Frenchie owner. She is easygoing and quite adaptable. She may be shy at first, but quickly overcomes that. She enjoys other dogs and is not aggressive, but she will stand up for herself if needed. Small is a state of mind according to Ione.

Ione’s foster mom has this to say: “Ione Skye is the sweetest, smallest Frenchie I have ever met. She loves to be cuddled and give kisses. Ione’s life before coming to FBRN is a little foggy, but all that matters now is that she is ready to be somebody’s best friend. She has been a great addition to our crazy family. She is a very soft spirited little gal, and all she wants is to be loved. She has so much love to give back, and deserves the perfect forever family.”

Ione is investigating all the small creatures in her backyard in Northern Wisconsin. Plan on picking her up in person as she will not be shipped.
