Gracie came to us as a result of her digging through a fence in the yard to get to fight with the neighbor's dog who was 'talking dirty' to her. The neighbors were threatening, and her former owners were afraid they would lose their lease if they kept Gracie. She was well-loved and cared for.

Gracie is in tip top health, and you wouldn't believe or guess that she is seven years old. She is perfectly house trained and crate trained. Gracie does tug at her leash, and wants to "get at" strange dogs. She would benefit from obedience training. In her former home Gracie lived with a cat and two other small dogs (a Frenchie and a yorkie.) She got along well with them, but due to her aggression towards the neighbor's dog and strange dogs she meets on walks, we recommend that she meet any pets in her potential forever home prior to adoption.

In her former life Gracie lived with two small kids, ages 3 and 6, and she loved them very much. We think she would enjoy living with children again. At home she is cool, calm and collected, and could live happily in a variety of homes. She loves kids and can handle a lively family atmosphere. Gracie is smart! She watches TV. Animal Planet is her favorite, but she likes Oprah as well. She's submissive to humans and was submissive to her boyfriend Frenchie in her former home. Gracie is a polite girl, except when she's on a walk - then she pulls and will give you a workout! Gracie doesn't beg or cause

mischief. She is a trustworthy girl and treats her home and its contents with respect. She loves chewtoys and stuffies and adores her weiner dog doll! Gracie likes to sit at your feet and be your 'shadow' friend, so we think she would be an excellent "take to work" dog as long as strange dogs didn't come and go. She is very sociable and loves to make friends. She would love a stay at home person to be with her all day, of course, but is also fine home alone. Gracie is not nervous or destructive but a girl needs a potty break once in a while!

As long as Gracie gets nice long leash walks twice a day we won't require a fenced yard, though of course we would prefer one.

A few final thoughts from her foster mom:
"Gracie deserves a wonderful family home! She is MISS MANNERS in personality, is in great physical health, is the ultimate perfect pet already trained and she has a wonderful loving heart. She is absolutely gorgeous, a chocolate Brindle color I've never seen before, and everyone who sees her remarks on her beauty! She had a BAD rap! Her only problem is aggression to other dogs unfamiliar to her. She was great with her former family's other two dogs and cat. She LOVES kids! She's very tolerant and patient, SWEET and LOVING.... A real SWEETHEART!"

If you think Gracie might be the sweetheart you have been dreaming of, apply for her today! Be prepared to take a drive, as Gracie is watching the tube in So Cal, and she will not be shipped!
