Frieda was a well-loved family pet. Unfortunately, when their human baby became allergic to her, Frieda’s owners had to give her up. They made a long, tearful journey to put her into FBRN's care. We appreciate their trust in us and promised to find the best possible forever home for their Frieda.

Frieda makes this easy. She is a wonderful dog who is full of life. She loves to fetch, and she is the best cuddler ever! She waggles her whole body when she sees her human. All she wants is to be the center of someone’s world.

Frieda is healthy but has a few minor issues that are typical in Frenchies. She has some allergies that are well-managed on a good grain-free diet, and the change of seasons. Her allergies may flare up again in the spring and summer so adopters should be prepared for veterinary checkups and management of environmental allergies that are not apparent in the current winter season. Her former owners reported a history of back weakness, resulting in coddling of her hind legs. We have seen no evidence of this while in foster care, but she should not jump off high surfaces.

Frieda is very dominant with other dogs, and it is stressful for her. She is a resource guarder with dogs, but not at all with humans. For these reasons we want her to be the only dog in the home. She is housebroken and crate trained, but would prefer the run of the house. (All small items must be picked up or she will eat them!) She knows how to go potty outside on command, but prefers not to potty on leash. A fenced yard is strongly preferred in this case, but an owner willing to work on this issue would be ok too.

Frieda needs a Frenchie-experienced person or family looking for a "baby" to dote on, not just a companion. Gentle children would be great with her. She has a lot of love to give!

Someone who works part time or has a dog sitter or comes home at lunch would be ok if Frieda is the center of your schedule at other times. as long as there are no other dogs, the office dog role could work for Frieda. All she wants is to cuddle with you; with an order of squeaky toys, stuffies to de-stuff, hard Nylabones, and a peanut butter stuffed Kong on the side, please.

Her foster mom says “When Frieda looks at you, she does it so adoringly that you will feel as though you are the only person in the world. Is there more than one person for her to entertain? Even better. She is one of the most cuddly beans I have ever known and she wants very much to please her humans. A sharp but calm correction is all she needs. Yell, only if in an emergency, as she will listen, but it will make her sad.

Frieda recently realized that she is not being babysat, that she is not going back to the people that she once knew. She became a bit quieter, and had given herself time-outs in her crate. When I crawled in with her, she was just delighted. Me! Me! Me! I love when people love Me! When they talk to Me! When they squish and kiss ME! Me! I like being ME! I like people liking ME being ME.

Frieda is a comedienne. She will play with toys, she will cuddle on the couch, she will drive your car, she will snort and nuzzle and kiss and dedicate to you what you dedicate to her.”

Frieda the lovebug is ready for her forever people to pick her up in So Cal. She will not be shipped.
