Dozer's allergies brought him to us, and we have discovered that he's most allergic to summertime outdoor allergens and dust mites. He takes his medications like a champ though, and the allergies might be less bad in a different ecosystem--coastal, or maybe desert, for instance.

Dozer is a dog who knows what he likes. He has strong opinions on cats (CHASE! KILL!); other dogs (Grr! Foster Frenchies are ok, but none others need apply); kids (ew! Hide me!) He'd really be best suited to a no-kids, no other pets family, where he can have all the love and attention.

Apart from his strong feelings on the aforementioned topics, Dozer is really a happy and kind of laid-back guy. He really enjoys making a bed out of pretty much anything, and really likes snoozing on the couch. He licks things a lot. We don't know what that's about, though we do know some allergy dogs compulsively lick their feet.

Dozer knows sit and shake, but he seems disinclined to put himself out to learn any other commands. He is housebroken and crate trained. Here's his list of favorite things: "He LOVES to play ball! He loves chewing on his Nylabone & playing with his stuffed toys! He really likes Kongs stuffed with peanut butter. He also loves car rides! He will try & grab anything to get your attention, like socks or fabric softener sheets. He also likes to run around like a mad man after his bath!"

We'll give preference to a home with only adults or a single person, and a family with experience dealing with allergies or a medical condition is a big plus! We might consider a home with another Frenchie, but he'd have to be really easygoing and willing to be dominated. No big dogs for Dozer. He doesn't like 'em.

Dozer loves to get out and about and meet his public. He'd do fine in an apartment if there were plenty of opportunities for walks. He'd also be a fine go to work guy, as long as he doesn't have to interact with any other dogs.

Here's what his foster mom said about Dozer: ""Dozer Boy or Dozie" is a great dog. He is a total 34 lb lap dog. He loves people! He wants to be touching you at all times. He is ready for a walk or a nap - you just name the time & the place. He also travels very well. Most of the time just wants to curl up in the seat next to you! He loves to pick up socks or shoes & run off with them to get your attention! He is also a big licker…he will lick pillows, hands, almost anything he can see! He is not a fan of the cold. When you wake him up he will be cold & tremble, so he likes to wear his jacket a lot! He really is a lover & deserves to have his own family to adore his old man face & exceptionally large ears!"

Dozer is bravely enduring the wintry chill of eastern Ohio, but is watching out the window for his forever person to come skidding up. He won't be shipped.
