Cameron is both adorable and a little sassy. This diminutive little lady knows what and who she likes, and we don't blame her one bit for having specific tastes.
This nine year-old girl was one of four dogs surrendered by a breeder who was downsizing. The dogs were in terrible shape after years of being deprived of even the most basic veterinary care.
Nonetheless, Cameron is a sweetheart and was ready to move on and give people the benefit of the doubt once again. Now that she's all up to date on vaccines and has a veterinary all-clear, she's ready to search for her very own forever home. Cameron has alopecia (hair loss) which is unexplained, but it does not seem to cause her any discomfort.
This perfectly aged girl loves her people. She is happy as a clam when she can simply cuddle on the couch and snooze the hours away. She loves Nylabones and stuffed toys. She is a very sensitive lady though, and gets easily upset or her feelings get hurt if voices are raised or it's too noisy in the house. So, a more quiet house is preferred.
However, she does not like sharing her fun toys, blankets, beds, or any of her belongings with other dogs. This is something that has significantly improved since settling into her foster home, but would need to be monitored if she is in another home with a dog. Just because she's older doesn't mean she'll let some young dog strut in and infringe on her property rights. No ma'am, if a dog wants to coexist, he or she must be willing to leave Cameron and all her belongings alone. As long as these simple rules are followed there will be no trouble for the youngun. We suspect that Cameron will really flourish as an only dog in a home where she has some rules along with a whole bunch of love or with another older couch potato kind of dog who would just enjoy lounging around with Cameron. Her newest favorite pal is the elderly Frenchie lady in her foster home; they spend their days sleeping in "their" king size bed, basking in the sunshine with the central air going!
Little Cameron is housebroken and crate trained. While she would love a stay at home parent, she would do just fine with someone that works as long as she could have a midday break. Since she is so quiet and loves people, she could probably easily adjust to going to work with someone. She would nap and quietly chew on her bone or play with a toy during the workday.
This little princess is ready to be a queen in someone's home. A single family home or an apartment would suit her just fine as long as she gets all the love that she deserves after so many hard years.
Now a word from her foster mom: "Cameron is a lovely little lady. She is older, but don't let that fool you...she has spunk! She moves well, and plays hard! She loves to travel, and most of all just wants people that can love her for the rest of her life. I know some people shy away from adopting an older dog, but I promise it is one of the most rewarding things you can do; adopt a dog that really needs to enjoy their life 'til the last day. You could be the person that shows her what life is all about...and to live each day to its fullest! Oh, and giving Frenchie kisses are her favorite! And as a reference for traveling, we live in Wisconsin but are 1.5 hours away from Minneapolis, MN."
If Cameron sounds like just the right queen for your kingdom, please submit an application. You must be willing to pick her up in Northwestern Wisconsin, because she will not be shipped.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Except in rare or unusual cases, adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter's home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.
