Bunni has been returned to her owner!
Easter may be long gone, but we have our own special Bunni who is just beginning the search for a new family. This little frog has spent her time in foster care bewitching all she meets and preparing for the summer to get to know her new forever family. Is she looking for you?
Bunni is a 2 year-old pied who came to FBRN when her owner decided to return to school full time. Knowing that school would demand all of her time, she called FBRN to help find Bunni and Clide (her little frog brother) a home where her humans would be able to spend more time with her. We were glad to help!
Bunni is a well-balanced frog, enjoying time with her people as well as time with a like-minded canine companion. Another dog in the household is a must for Bunni. Big or small is ok, as long as her new companion has manners and doesn’t try to boss her around. Bunni feels she is old enough to know what do, thank you, and doesn’t need someone to tell her. Cats? That's another story. While Bunni has never made a move towards the pesky felines in her foster home, she does like to yell at them quite a bit. Her foster home has no children, but her foster mom thinks she will be fine with kids older than 10.
Bunni is healthy, she is spayed and is up to date on all of her essentials and weighs in at a svelte 20 lbs, but she does have some ongoing problems with her left ear. Her foster family will be reviewing this with Bunni’s forever family, but her new family should be committed to keeping an eye on those bunny ears. She also sounds like a “freight train,” so palate and nare surgery may be in her future. Particular care must be taken in warmer weather so she does not overheat. A family experienced in brachycephalic breeds would be excellent for Bunni. She has lots of energy to spend playing with her foster companions and younger brother Clide (one must be vigilant in keeping younger brothers in line, after all) but she is not a hyper dog, knowing when it's time to play and when it's time for snuggles and belly rubs. She enjoys racing out into her backyard, so a fenced yard is preferred and care must be taken around doors to the outside world so Bunni doesn’t hop off into the great unknown.
Bunni has had some housebreaking challenges but is beginning to get the hang of things. Her foster family thinks as long as her family is committed to providing a consistent routine, Bunni should accomplish this goal. She will need someone who is home with her the majority of the day or who could take her to the office with her to ensure housebreaking success.
In her former home, Bunni lived with her younger canine frog brother (Clide) and 1 other human. She has gotten used to the routine of a busy active family and interaction with people. While she may be shy at first, she is quick to come around and ask for attention and her share of belly rubs. Her foster mom says she is a sweet and happy girl who will make a great companion.
Bunni is getting ready for those summer barbecues in SW Missouri. Plan on hopping by to pick her up, as she will not be shipped.
