Boss has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.Brosh fell asleep in his customary position on his back on the couch. When his foster family woke the next morning they found he had passed away in his sleep.

Boss is not bossy at all; rather, he's one of those happy boys who do not understand his body's limitations. He's a lovely boy who gets on well with everyone and is ready to find his very own family.

This well adjusted seven-year-old came into FBRN only because his former family was undergoing some financial hardships.

Boss has had back surgery while in his former home and his rear legs are a bit weak. Unfortunately, shortly after coming into foster care, he injured his back while playing with the resident dogs. He was put on strict crate rest and steroids and has recovered nicely. Since his injury, he has not been allowed to run free with the resident dogs, because Boss will go with the flow, forget about his back pain, and be a happy camper despite the risk of re-injuring himself

Another minor issue is that he has ectropion – a condition where the eyelids turn outward - and dry eye. He needs eye ointment twice a day.

Boss is looking for a mellow family where he can spend a lot of time with his people. He'll take his cues for behavior from whoever is around, so a calm environment is a must in any potential home. While Boss likes everybody and would probably do okay with kids, only homes with older kids would be appropriate for this boy.

This boy is only reluctantly crate trained. He's well behaved and does better simply being baby gated off into a section of the house. Boss was completely housebroken, but when he was on steroids it made him thirsty which naturally increased the frequency of his need to urinate. His foster home found that a belly band helped keep the house clean. He's been weaned off of steroids, however, he's not reliably housebroken yet. He still wears his belly band and does have accidents with pooping in the house when he gets too excited or after eating.

Boss is generally respectful all around. He knows how to sit, shake, and stay.

This sweet boy is looking for a family where the environment is nice and calm. He would do well in a single family home or an apartment as long as there aren't too many stairs. A fenced yard would be a nice bonus, but is not a requirement.

Boss could easily adjust to going to work with his people if the situation allows for that. Otherwise, he would wait for his people at home.

Now here's a word from his foster home: "Boss is a GREAT guy. He is laid back and seems to want nothing more than the company of his people. Despite his spinal issue and the fact that it really isn't good for him, he loves to run and play. He wants to be near you. Even when it was obvious he didn't feel well and was in pain, he suffered in silence and tried to be near us at all times. He has one black eye and one 'pinky' eye. Between this, the way his jaw is set and the fact that his chest is so much larger than his hind quarters, he has a most charming bulldog look. He moves in a slow, sweet sway, often sliding his behind on the floor until he can pull it up under him. Boss is a gentle soul with the kindest, loving eyes who deserves people who will love him as much as he loves them and who will protect him."
