Beaulicious Bonaparte has made his debut on the Available page! He is one active lovebug; read on to see if you are his perfect match!

Like many frogs in our care, Bonaparte was surrendered because his previous family could not manage his allergies. His foster mom currently has him on a prescription diet combined with a weekly medicated bath, a daily benedryl and an every-other-day Temaril-P. This combination seems to be alleviating his discomfort.

There is also a juvenile cataract beginning to form in Bonaparte’s left eye. His vision is fine, but any potential adopter will need to monitor it for any changes though his current vet doesn’t feel he’ll ever need anything done for it.

Despite his allergies and cataract, Bonaparte is a wonderful little companion. He has a mellow character and just loves hanging out with his people. His former home included two children, so he would do well with kind and gentle children.

In his foster home, he gravitates toward one of the male resident dogs who is similarly mellow. Although he would happily join a home with another confident and relaxed dog, Bonaparte would be fine as an only dog as well. He’s a little shy and reserved in new environments and a rowdy home with multiple dogs would be overwhelming for this sweet boy.

Not wanting to be on the go with other dogs all the time, Bonaparte is extremely content to be held like a baby in his person’s arms. He has learned “sit” and would probably love to work on other obedience commands. Bonaparte also walks on a leash well, so getting out for weekend park rambles are a pleasure!
Bonaparte is an adaptable sort of frog, so any type of home would be great for him. He HATES kittes, so we’ll have to say “no” to feline counterparts in his forever home, but beyond that, any combination of dogs/kids/adults is fantastic!

Both housebroken and crate trained, Bonaparte would be fine waiting at home for his person to return from work, as long as a midday break could be arranged. Otherwise, since he is so sweet with no temperament issues, he would make a wonderful office companion.

We’ll let foster mom tell you a bit more in her own words: “Bonaparte is a wonderful little boy. He is kind and loving. He lights up the room when he comes in and loves to play. He is so incredibly cute and sweet. He is just an exceptional and loving dog that will make his forever family very lucky to have him. He is a joy to have around. If there was ever a foster frog I would keep, this would be the one. He is awesome!”

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Except in rare or unusual cases, adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter's home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.
