Please read the puppy mill info page before applying for Annabel.

Our dear little Annabel is ready to find her forever home. This 10-month old little girl weighs in at only 18 pounds and she’s cute as a button, so we hope we’ll find the right fit for her soon.

Annabel didn’t have the best start in life, as she was born in a puppy mill in the Ukraine, imported by a broker, then purchased by an individual. When the telltale symptoms of a sick puppy started showing up, the owner realized she could not properly care for this teeny little pup and surrendered her into FBRN’s care.

Despite her less than ideal start, Annabel is a lovely little flower who has blossomed and is ready to take root with a family that’ll love her forever.

There are a couple of health issues that will have to be managed through all of Annabel’s life. The first is that she has very narrow airway. What this means in terms of everyday life, is that even for a Frenchie, she is a noisy breather. That probably means you’ll get to enjoy an extra dose of grunting and snoring, and there’s no doubt she’ll be the envy of all your friends who have canines!

As a result of coming from such terrible breeding conditions, this pup’s hips don’t connect into their sockets properly. She compensates well and runs around like a wild puppy, but she should probably be kept away from stairs or jumping off any couches or decks.

When it comes to temperament, Annabel is a lovely puppy who seems to love everyone including dogs, cats, and of course people! In her foster home, she tends to be a follower and follows whatever mischief the resident dogs are plotting. Although she’s game for any activity, her breathing makes it so that realistically she can’t keep up with them for very long. This is a dog who loves to play and stay mentally active, but some playtime in the backyard is sufficient, since any significant exercise would make it difficult to get her breathing back to normal.

Annabel is crate trained, but she is still working on housebreaking, so her future family should expect to continue working with her in this department. As this little lady is so friendly, she might make a good office dog in the future, but we suspect she would have a hard time settling down as she always wants to know what’s going on and she may find unsanctioned recreational activities that reduce productivity in the work place! She would also be fine left at home while her owners work, as long as she could have a mid-day potty break.

We suspect this pup will do great in an apartment, condo or a house. She will need to take some basic obedience classes, as she doesn’t understand that she needs to come when called, and classes would help her find her way.

This puppy is a happy camper! She loves snuggling, toys, doggie cookies, cats, dogs, people, oxygen, water, trees and…well, you get the idea.

If you’ve been waiting for a young, pocket-sized Frenchie with a fantastic temperament, this may be your chance. You must understand that Annabel has some long-term health concerns that will need to be monitored and cared for over the course of her life. If you feel you may be the right fit for this pretty girl please submit an application.

You must be willing to pick up Annabel in Western Montana as she will not be shipped.
