Ace is on the available page and looking for his forever Valentine! Are you that family? This handsome and incredibly cute frog is 15 months old, and quite happy and healthy except for some mild skin allergies that are currently well controlled.

Ace came to us after he and his canine brother could not decide who was in charge. After several arguments, it was decided that Ace would come to FBRN. He has brought many smiles, laughs and the funniest noises with him. Ace is still in puppy mode and his forever family needs to commit to helping him burn that puppy energy. He is working diligently on his housebreaking and is almost there, but his family will need to keep him to a routine and he should be fine. Ace seems to love children. He spent a day at a dog show recently and accepted the adulation and affection of many children and loved them right back. However, since he eats any small toys he finds, we think he'd be better with older kids or in a family where children are visitors. He had to have surgery to have a small toy removed. His foster family says that he is very food motivated and will be easy to train. We also think he should go to a family committed to working on a nasty little habit he has. Like many dogs, he's a poop eater. It's no big deal if his family walks him and can immediately pick up after him, but he shouldn't be allowed free roaming of the yard unless someone is paying attention.

Ace's biggest issue seems to be with other strong-minded dogs. He does well with submissive dogs and would probably be happiest as the only dog in the house. He has not been around cats, so we will have to say no cats. Like any puppy he is very busy and sometimes does not pay attention to his surroundings so a fenced in backyard would be best. He could go to the office with his person, but if he feels not enough attention is being paid, he will start to moan and howl and in fact, has unwittingly participated on several of his foster dad's conference calls. Ace can also be demanding and protective of the space around his people, and we will be looking for a family willing to work with him. It's not ok to be jealous of other dogs or people getting close to the parents!

Ace loves his toys, and loves to chew. He spends a lot of time with his elk horn and Himalayan chews. He likes pull toys and he is that rare breed -- a frogtreiver! Ice cubes, even in the cold Michigan winter are also a favorite. Another favorite is car rides. Ace loves to explore his world!

By far, Ace's favorite thing is to snuggle with his people. He likes to sleep snuggled up to his person at night, so sleeping in a crate at bedtime would not be for him. A good snuggle on the couch also works for Ace and he loves to return the favor.

His foster parent has this to say: "Ace is just a big baby and wants to be held all the time when he isn't chewing his favorite bones. Ace makes the funniest noises; I call him my little Gremlin because I have never heard a dog make these types of sounds. The adoptive family will have to get used to these sounds, the first time few times I heard them I wasn't sure if he was playing or was mad. He is the cutest little Frenchie with tons of personality. He has a mischievous side as well, I think he is more curious than anything, but as most puppies do, gets into EVERYTHING! When he is in this mode I call him Dennis the Menace. Ace loves to play with other dogs mainly ones that are more submissive but loves to run and play outdoors with other dogs. Ace is not a big barker indoors or outdoors, however he will bark a lot when playing with other dogs. Sometimes it's hard to tell if Ace is happy or not, because he cannot wag his tail."

If you love busy, active and adorable puppies, Ace may be the one for you. Please fill out an application and tell us why. Ace is spending the winter in SE Michigan. Plan on visiting him in person, as he will not be shipped.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Except in rare or unusual cases, adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter's home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.

Hello !!! My family met Ace yesterday at a dog show in Novi, Michigan. We were very taken with Ace and how sweet and playful he was with our little girl. We didn't have any cash at the show so we wanted to send a little gift for his care. Jodi Knight
