**Taz has a bite history**
After quite some time in foster care and a lot of hard work with his trainer, Taz has made it to the available page! This handsome 3-year-old boy has been a handful, but seeing him really blossom with the help of a strong pack leader has convinced us Taz is ready to find his perfect forever family.
Ideally the person would live alone or else every household resident must have the same level of commitment.
Taz is a good looking, smart and funny companion for the right person. He behaves wonderfully when he is with his trainer.
Taz is a dominant dog. His trainer reports that he is a big dog in a little dog's body. He will need a very special family. They must be confident in their ability to give Taz a secure home and who will commit to keep working on his obedience training.
The perfect home for Taz would be one in which he was an only dog. He will take advantage of smaller dogs and can be a bit of a bully. A larger dog who is not intimidated or easily pushed around might be a possibility as well.
Critters and cats are a "definitely not!" for Taz. He's not great with other critters.
Because of Taz's bite history, he won't go to a family with children or where children are frequent visitors.
Taz loves and needs lots of exercise! A fenced-in yard where Taz can run around would be great, or if you like to go on long walks, then Taz will be your constant companion! Taz is not your Frenchie couch-potato. He needs to stay busy physically and mentally!
Taz is house trained, but he does have crate aggression. We have learned that Taz is very food motivated, so crate-training with food may help with his crate aggression if you must crate him. He gets scared of the crate and lashes out when the door shuts.
If you work from home, you'd be perfect for Taz! He can't go to the office with you, but he'd love if someone was home with him all day to continue working on his behaviors.
Taz loves to go for rides in the truck and play-ball! If you are considering adopting Taz, his trainer has a special message for you:
"Tas has tons of personality and is strong minded, but will do anything for someone savvy. Anyone who adopts him must be a strong-minded individual. With the right person who can set rules, he is a fun loving dog. I will work with and any potential adopters to help him succeed."
